Here's a nice YouTube studio screenshot for you: That's how many long form YouTube views I've got in 2026. Now you might look at that and think "man, And you'd be right to think so. It certainly is nice when videos pop. But that's not my favourite bit about this graph. This is: All those little ▶️ icons are videos posted. Week in week out, I kept posting. And it paid off. It almost looks exactly like one of those motivational graphics you see around the place:
It sounds cliche, but the best part about the video popping off wasn't the actual views it got. It was the fact that I kept going long enough to see that happen. That I didn't stop. That's the most satisfying part. And believe me, it felt discouraging sometimes as a self-proclaimed "YouTube guy" to see 500 views on a video. But the game is the game. And the funny thing is, my business was doing just fine with 500-2,000 views per video on average. It felt as if my videos were getting more views than they were, because I would hear from so many people that they'd been watching them. Now I am in a "make money" niche, which means you can have fewer views, get fewer customers at higher prices and make the business work. But I work with lots of channels in different niches like health, relationships, music and even dementia care, and getting 1,000 - 5,000 of the right views per video, is all you need. Especially if the goal is $100k+/year, and not millions. Every now and then it's great to have a video get 5-10x your normal views, and if you post 52 videos in a year, it'll happen 2-3 times. But what's more important is the base view count. The actual returning audience who come back week in week out to learn from you. So here's some extremely simple advice that I like to think about when it comes to both YouTube and business:
That's it. I know if I do those three things, it's a lot harder to lose. Tintin 🫡 P.s. We sold out our 5 available spots for July inside The $100k YouTuber, after selling out June too. If you like reading about people’s personal finances, this one’s for you. Because recently I posted a YouTube video called “How I make $288k/year with only 19k subs”. And you hear jacked online business bros (like me 💪) talking about these kinds of numbers all the time just to get views, and you wonder what’s true and what’s not. What does $288k/year actually mean? And how much do I have left to spend on coffees and golf holidays with the boys? When I first started making money in the...
I got 88,000 views on YouTube in the last 28 days. I'm pretty chuffed, because before that, it was about 5-10x less. So things are looking up, and I want to share a few things that changed. Yes, consistency is key. I've posted 34 videos in 33 weeks so far this year. Obviously my YouTube channel wouldn't have grown without posting videos.... BUT, a few things have contributed to the improved results recently. My content has not really changed that much in the past month. The vast majority of...
Wahey, we went viral over the weekend. 18k views in 4 days. A big outlier for my channel. Now in another email, I want to go deeper into the personal finances here. Because the $288k looks cool, but it's far from what actually ends up in your pocket at the end of the day. And I've learned a tonne about finances in the past 18 months since quitting my job. But I'll be honest, I've been waiting for a viral vid like this for a while, and I want to share some things about why it's exciting. So...
