Quick note before we dive in, I'm launching a Spring cohort of my coaching programme The $100k YouTuber this Monday April 6th. There's limited spots, if you'd like to book a call to talk about whether it's right for you, you can do so here. "Repeat the same activities. Repeat the same outcomes." This is one of my favourite Hormozi quotes I've been dwelling on recently. It's taken on a new meaning for me. For a long time, I only understood this intellectually. "Sure, if I repeat the same actions of people who have been successful, I'll repeat some kind of their success?" I'll watch some YouTube videos, listen to some pods, take some action and boom batta bing I'll be a billionaire by Tuesday. Well...kind of. Of course not a billionaire, and definitely not Elon levels. He's now apparently worth $800bn? Seriously what on earth?? Good luck repeating that. But to build a small, successful YouTube business to support you and your family, in the internet era, the path is a lot clearer. You don't need top 1% talent or skill. You certainly do not need to reinvent the wheel. You need three simple things:
You do not need to add one more inch of complication to your business model. Seriously, not an inch! I've now seen enough people work through this to know that if you actually do the work for long enough, you can get the results you're looking for. But the problem isn't the business model. It's you, me and our goddamn monkey brains. They have feelings and emotions and want to stop when things get too hard. Another guru Daniel Priestley likens building a business to making Lego. You just follow the instruction manual. But here's the thing, while you're building the business it definitely doesn't feel like that. Lego doesn't take years. Lego doesn't want to crush your self worth by rejecting you on a sales call. Lego doesn't make you wonder if you should start an Only Fans. But business can. And that's why I like "repeat the same actions, repeat the same outcomes". Because if you want the same outcome, then you have to deal with the emotional rollercoaster that comes with taking the same difficult actions. Especially on YouTube where you're plastering your face all over the internet (and people can see how many views you're getting). And that's why people tap out. Not because the model doesn’t work. Not because it's complicated intellectually. Because it’s hard emotionally. Gosh even my own goddamn writing is starting to sound like ChatGPT. Anyway, if you want build your YouTube business to 6-figures with an elite crew of YouTubers, who are also going through the emotional rollercoaster, then my next cohort for The $100k YouTuber starts on Monday. It might just be the clear step by step programme (complete with emotional support seat belts) that you've been looking for. You can learn more and book in a call directly with me on this page here. Today, I have an exciting announcement. I am launching a completely free community for educational YouTubers. And I'm going to be doing a free workshop or Q&A every week! How exciting, I know. Why? Well, I love writing to you like this. I also love talking to you through a camera in my bedroom. But this movement is only just beginning. Around the world more and more educators, teachers and anyone with wisdom to share are building incredible businesses. And it's only going to keep going. I...
I realised something recently. Every YouTuber I work with who's actually doing one key thing is making progress. And YouTubers who aren't doing it don't make progress. I've been telling people to do this simple thing for ages, but still people don't do it. And I'll repeat it as long as I'm in this business. Because it's the simple things that work. The secret sauce? It's putting a link to book in a free call with you at the top of your video description and emails. And then telling people to...
Last week I went away to Spain to play some golf with the lads. This is us on the 18th green measuring up a putt to win our version of the Ryder Cup tournament (a real professional tournament when US golfers play European golfers). I'm in the blue at the back of the picture. And this is me on a stunning hole at Emporda Golf Course about to slice one right... I'm not very good. But it was an epic week, and we do it every year. I'm very grateful to have a group of friends who organise such...
